If you've ever been on Twitter, you probably heard of a well known hashtag #9PMRoutine Law Enforcement across the country have taken advantage of social media sites as a way to reach out to the communities in which they serve and protect. One of those ways is by using the 9 PM Routine hashtag as a way of reminding residents to be smart and play it safe. And the Endicott Police Dept have joined in as of Feb 21, 2019. Endicott Police Department "Starting tonight, the Endicott Police Department kicks off a new #9PMRoutine initiative as we look to help keep you and your property safe. We’ll be reminding you each night on social media, but we ask our residents to set an alarm for each night at 9 p.m., reminding yourself to “lock it up!”-
- Remove valuables from your vehicle - Ensure car doors are locked, with windows up -Turn on exterior lights make thieves visible! - Make sure all windows and exterior doors are locked including garage! Most larcenies from vehicles and burglaries occur when the vehicle, residence or garage are unlocked. Please take these few simple steps to prevent yourself from becoming a victim of vehicle break-ins and burglaries.
Be sure to check in with your local law enforcement by replying in comments to let them know you're all locked up! Many do this with a simple comment or gif, which has caused the hashtag to go national with thousands doing it.

In the near future, the Endicott Police Department will have a portion of their website where you can register that you have a camera. This way if they are investigating something, the police department can contact you and take a look and see if your camera catches something. Working TOGETHER to FIGHT CRIME!
